Job Description:

ROLE PURPOSE:

The Project Assistant supports implementation of activities of the project, carries out tasks in support of project development and implementation and provides administrative support to project management processes.

KEY AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY :

Observing lessons and identifying teachers’ and Shuras strengths and weaknesses. Providing feedback, advice, and individual training sessions for teachers and Shuras. Organizing workshops, training sessions, for teachers and Shuras. Collaborating with teachers and other staff to develop improved curricula, lesson plans, assessments, and classroom management techniques. Monitor classes to asses progress once teachers have completed their training. Supervising classroom activities, taking notes, and writing up reports relevant project management team. Developing new strategies and plans for an improved learning experience. Building teacher networks and encouraging teachers to share their resources and knowledge. Actively participate in ToTs. Support teachers in preparation of teaching plans and other plans relevant to school management. Contribute in the development of training materials for teachers, Shuras and school management. Perform other assigned tasks.

Job Requirements:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

Essential:

At least Bachlor degree holder 3 years of experience working in education projects and capacity building. Ability to work in challenging environment Good Interpersonal and Communication skills Computer literate, knowledge and experience of working on Ms. Excel, word, Power point and Strong organizational skills. Knowledge of monitoring and evaluation Politically and culturally sensitive with qualities of patience, tact and diplomacy The capacity and willingness to be extremely flexible and accommodating in difficult and sometimes insecure working circumstances. Oral and written Language skills in English and local language Ability to work simultaneously with multiple tasks, willingness and ability to work efficiently with a wide diverse group of people Working ability with tight deadlines and in a fast growing program environment.

Desirable:

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills & problem solving skills Experience or knowledge of working and living in relevant regions/contexts. Experience in conducting trainings. Ability to write project reports. Knowledge of the local languages in the assigned area will be an added advantage Proficient in report writing and documentation.
